Duster
I bought my Duster from the original owner. She was a retired Economics professor and this was the first car she had ever bought with her own money. It was a no options, slant 6, automatic with 65,000 miles. I had seen the car parked by the house for many years and had asked if it was for sale many times, with an immediate "no" on every occasion. I had looked at some other cars that either weren't for sale or were over-priced. I was about to call on another one when I decided to give the Duster one more try. It was snowing and I went up to the door, but this time with a different approach, when her husband came to the door I said I'll give you $700 for your Duster - he said yes. When I went to pick up the title, the lady said people would come by all the time trying to buy the car, but she wouldn't sell, she knew "they just want to make a hot rod out of it". As I looked away I assured her that I was going to restore the car. I bought the car in late 97, 2 ½ years later, it was at the track and car shows and we've been enjoying it ever since.
