1971 Challenger

This is a 1971 Dodge Challenger that I purchased from Chuck Hjerpe back in December of 2004. Being an original New Mexico car, the body and interior were in excellent shape with hardly any rust, but it needed lots of mechanical work and TLC. A complete restoration was done to get it to a nice driver/show quality with the help of club members and sponsors. The entire suspension, brakes, drive train, interior, electrical and paint/body were restored. Loids Rides did all the paint/body work taking the car back to its original Lt. Gunmetal poly color. Chris Johnson refreshed the 383 and helped out with the engine break-in. Six-Pack Performance provided the 4-spd conversion kit and tons of other parts, Team Synergy (locally) did the header coatings, and Legendary Interiors provide a good part of the interior. NM Gear & Clutch rebuilt the 3.55 Sure Grip after it grenaded only 200 miles after the restoration was finished. I did all the mechanical work, small part restoration and tear down/rebuild. The car won 1st place at the State Fair show this year and it has been selected for the 2009 calendar! Looking forward to driving and showing the car next year as well as working on the endless details and improvements.

This car was also featured in the PentaStars section of the March 2099 Mopar Muscle Magazine issue.
