1955 Dodge Custom Royal

The Custom Royal was the flagship of the 1955 Dodge line and included bias-ply 7.10 x 15 GoodYear Super Cushion tubeless whitewall tires with full wheel covers, chrome rear fins, sweep spear side trim, turn signals, backup lights with unique light and taillight bezels, two-speed electric wipers, fresh air heater & defroster and a deluxe interior.

The standard engine in the Royals was the Super Red Ram V8, a 270 CID HEMI (hemispherical combustion chambers & double rocker shafts) with dual ignition points and an oil bath air cleaner. The electrical system was 6-volt positive ground.

A myriad of optional equipment was offered and this car is “loaded” with:

• (very rare) Power Pack to produce 193 h.p. (Carter 4-barrel carburetor & dual exhausts)
• PowerFlite Transmission (2-speed air-cooled automatic without a Park function – but an extremely effective parking brake)
• Full Time Power Steering (reduces steering effort by 80%)
• Deluxe two-tone plastic steering wheel
• (very rare) 4-way Power Seat (5” fore/aft & 3.125” up/down)
• 8 Tube Push Button (AM) Radio with dual antenna's
• Electric Clock
• Map Light
• Glove Box Light
• Tinted Windshield
• Bumper Guards
• Fender Skirts
